Due to the thick haze, personal family commitments and health reasons, GolfPunk will be having a Ramadhan break until after Eid(Hari Raya). There will be 2 events in October and 2 in November and one final Championship tournament in December.

The Matchplay Final between Pg Wahab Pg Omar and Fazri Hj Zainal will be played on the Championship in December.

Also new handicaps will be published after Ramadhan on the handicap board at RBA GC and also this website.

Rules & Regulations:

1. Top 32 ranked will play matchplay and strokeplay.

2. Those ranked outside top 32 can play strokeplay only.

3. All putts must be finished.

4. If a player wins a match 3 & 2, they must both finish the round for the strokeplay event.

5. The lower handicapped player will give strokes according to difference of strokes.
Eg: Brian Sim, hcp 12 vs Bahrin Bakar, hcp 7
12 - 7 = 5 strokes.
Bahrin will give one stroke on the index holes 1 - 5.

6. All players play together on Sunday, 14th June 2009 only.

7. Those who cannot attend will be replaced with the next ranked player outside the top 32.

8. The table above is subject to change.

PUNKNEWS: Pantak Punks find success in KL

Congratulations to Team Pantak who recently won the Nett Team event in the qualifying round of the World Amateur Inter-Team Golf Championship in Kuala Lumpur on the 4th-7th May 2009. The qualifying round was held at Glenmarie Course in KL for 4 days.
Capt Hj Rijal also won the Nett Individual Champion of the qualifying round.

The four are currently in the Top 40 of the GolfPunk League with Capt Suhaini ranked 3rd, Hj Yussop ranked 4th, Hj Momin ranked 13th and Capt Hj Rijal ranked 35th.

With the win, they will now play in the Championship finals where all their air fare and hotel are all paid for. Well done Pantak Punks !!!

Fear no more because, there will be a special workshop on the R&A Rules of Golf held at the RBA Golf Club on SUNDAY, 1st March 2009 at 10am at the 1st floor of the clubhouse.

The workshop will be conducted by a certified Royal & Ancient Rules Referee and the fee is $10. The workshop will last for an hour and for those interested the lesson learned can be applied at the golf course for a sunday afternoon round of golf.

Golf PUNK League 2009

Asalamualaikum and welcome to GolfPUNK Season 2009.
Due to popular demand, the league is activated again with a slightly different format in terms of playing during weekends.

Management
The League will be managed by a committee whose decision in all matters shall be final. All play shall be in accordance with the Rules of Golf and the Rules of Amateur Status as approved by R&A Rules Limited and the Local Rules of the host club, as approved by the Committee.

League
The League is open to all amateur golfers. The Committee reserves the right to assign handicaps as they deem fit, within reason and as allowed within the Rules of the USGA Handicapping System.

There is no limit to the number of players for the season. The Committee also reserves the rights to accept or refuse any entry without providing any reasons whatsoever.

Punk Weekend

• The league will be held every fortnight on weekend mornings, beginning on the 23rd Jan 2009 & 25th Jan 2009. This is to accomodate government civil servants, businessmen, students, housewives and private company employees who cannot play at the same time.
• The only time all GolfPUNKS must play together are during 'The Minors' and 'The Play-Offs'.
• Points will be displayed on the League's official blog: www.golfpunks.blogspot.com the following Monday.
• Prizes in the form of either cash or trophies will be given to the Top 3 Nett winners and Top 3 Gross winners.

Mode of Play
The mode of play shall be 18 holes of Strokeplay System 36.

• After Week 6, all established GolfPUNK players will be given a handicap by the Committee and the following league games will then use Strokeplay as its mode of play.
• Points ranging from 10 to 1 will be given to the Top 10 Nett scores of the Punk Weekend.
• The remaining players who are not in the Top 10 will be given only 1 point for attendance.
• The Top 3 Nett and Top 3 Gross winners are eligible to play in the season ending Play-Offs held in either November or December.

The Minors and the Play-Offs

• 3 Major tournaments known as The MINORS will be held every 3-4 months with The Play-Offs held as the season-ending Grand Finale.
• The Minors is a slightly bigger tournament where every GolfPUNK must play at the same venue at the same time. There will be novelty prizes and lucky draws for the Minors.
• The Play-Offs are only eligible for the TOP 30-ranked players in the league and also any Nett and Gross Winners during any of the Punk Weekends.
• The Winner of the Play-Offs will receive a Champions Trophy and named '2009 GolfPUNK of the Year'.
  

Venue
Main Venue will be RBA Golf Club but may move to other golf courses according to the club's slot availability.
